What Is the Banana Rodeo?
The Banana Rodeo is an annual event hosted at La Finka that's part science fair, part living showcase of our community and part community experiment -- featuring a hands-on science fair as a vibrant platform for artists, builders, organizers, and misfits of all kinds to connect, gather, and co-create.
Who’s Behind It: La Finka
La Finka is a community space and experimental bioregional hub located on a 1.8-acre homestead in Reno. We host gatherings, build sustainable infrastructure, and support local artists, educators, and organizers.
Our mission is to cultivate connection, innovation, and regenerative culture through hands-on experiences, shared resources, and collective imagination.
Our Structure
We are currently a fiscally sponsored project of The Beauty Project, allowing all contributions to be tax-deductible while we move toward becoming a standalone 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
The Banana Rodeo serves as our annual fundraiser, helping us build capacity for year-round programming, infrastructure improvements, and equitable access to creative tools and knowledge.
