Internal Handbook - WIP

I am working on an internal handbook for la finka. This includes the Agorideans, but also the community at large that wants to get a bit more hands on. Actively seeking review, collaboration & discussion on this to set it up. It crosses over into community garden & finka creative incubator infrastructure.

Finka To Dos - Springtime

High Priority

• Da Cooop
  • Hardware is on workbench in garage
  • Get the coop on wheels
  • Attach lids for nesting box
  • Build the last wall
  • Wrap the coop in chicken wire
• Irrigation - Front wildflower bed
  • There are hose bib timers in the entry way on shoe rack. My guess is 30-50 min twice a week?

  • Go through Garage - Any burning man items ( Take a cubby in far side of halfpipe )

Medium Priority

• Irrigation - back patio

  • Route the small 1/4" dripper and tack down with the U's in the box just outside back slider. Tack em down with the rubber mallet - General coverage - don't overlap
  • @Alex - Mount the irrigation controller (Call me for deets) It just needs some rigid structure to hold it in place otherwise the pressure shoots it out.

• Plant - Back Patio

  • Can plant our new seedlings
  • get local berries - strawberriesm raspberries etc in full sun just south of irrigation box

• Stump Grinding - Rent Stump Grinder

  • 2 stumps at Van Land

• Ditch Watering Schedule
  • Cycle Water through front garden zone (Careful not ot overflow pond)
  • Keep Swales full
    • Restrict flow at box - Trickle water to neighbors

  • 3 days - Cycle Wood Chips
    • Old wood chips go to compost pile in the front.

Hot Tub

Recommend blowing air into the holes to see where it comes out. Can use air compressor in the garage. This will aide in mapping flows. Air compressor tips are on the workbench in metal container.

Process

1. Determine flow of PVC pipes coming out of ground
   1. Mark one as inlet
   2. Mark other as Return
   3. NOTE: There are 4 pipes in the garage. Mark the ones that connect to outside so we know. I think that two of those are essentially a loopback? It's confusing I know.
2. Determine which pump is for the blower (jets) & which one is for heater.
3. Disconnect heater Pump.
   1. Mark inlet & Return
4. Remove control Box
5. Cut out base to allow for pipes coming out of ground at hot tub to fit in.
6. Get hot tub in position ( Add backfill dirt to hole around plumbing first (Assuming we can connect the pipes as is )
7. Connect plumbing correctly.
8. There's a crack in ozone tubing? Unsure what this does or how it works? Investigate.
9. If ozone tubing is ok, we should be okay to fill and test run the geothermal heater.
10. Call Niko to Aide in this test.

Backyard Shade

Lead:: Nate? Will confirm

Materials:

• Shade Sails are in a black bin in the barn
• Unknown sizes - Explore them and mark out the sizes to determine layout.
• Okay to Mount on to side of roof
• okay to pour concrete and add 2+ posts near hot tub
• Okay to pour concrete and add post near paver walkway & rosebush.
  • Confirm with me for placement.

Process - Real Rough (But Nate Can break in to detail)

1. Disassemble back fence behind pool (Leave in large sheets but unmount from metal posts)
2. Sleeve or attach longer posts to the metal posts mounted in the ground.
3. Some of them may need some additional support at base cuz the concrete is cracked
4. Reattach Fence.
5. Cross Bars across the long posts for trellis
6. Hooks or holes for mounting rigging to shade sails.

Basement Demo

• Demo the basement bathroom down to studs. Be careful not to knock any plumbing and cause leak.
• All material can go to dump
• If there is clean dry wall sections (No Mold or major damage), save them for acoustic treatment of the ceiling (I have a plan to add mass to floorboards to dampen vibrations.)
  • Thee will be cut to width to slip up in between the joists flush with the ceiling.
• wood panel Walls facing electrical shop can come off (Save, we want to test staining these to freshen em up. )
