Overview

Supports the creative and operational infrastructure of La Finka: physical, digital, and technical.

This department keeps the tools sharp, the lights on, the tech connected, and the shop humming. It supports both the regenerative vision of the land and the creative expressions of the people.

• Facilities and tool maintenance
• IT and local network infrastructure
• Woodshop and electronics lab
• Energy systems and monitoring
• Documentation and digital stewardship

Roles

• Infrastructure & Facilities Steward
  • Oversees all non-agricultural systems: shop maintenance, power systems, tech labs, safety protocols.
• Network & IT Lead
  • Sets up internet systems, server management (e.g. Home Assistant, NAS), smart garden & home integrations.
• Electronics Lab Facilitator
  • Develops and maintains a creative prototyping space for circuits, microcontrollers, sound synthesis, etc.
• Woodshop Manager
  • Handles tool libraries, woodworking stations, shop safety, and fabrication for site and events.
• Tool Librarian
  • Maintains inventory, repair logs, and check-out system for communal tools.
• Energy Systems Lead
  • Maintains solar, battery storage, geothermal, and energy monitoring systems.
