Welcome to La Finka—a living, breathing space where art, ecology, and community care come together to grow something beautiful. Whether you’re here to plant trees, document events, build systems, or get grounded you’re part of a collaborative experiment in regeneration.

What is La Finka?

La Finka is a bioregional hub for regeneration—a cultural third place and living lab located in Reno, Nevada. We exist to:

Support creativity and place-based innovation
Regenerate our land through permaculture and shared stewardship
Host events and workshops that inspire collective joy and knowledge sharing
Act as a prototype for community-led sustainability and circular economies

Our work is deeply rooted in ecological care, and imaginative action. We believe in building with what we have, dreaming of what’s possible, and doing it together.

At La Finka, our mission is to ignite creativity, cultivate innovation, and empower a vibrant community to build a thriving future. We harness the power of art and technology, integrated with sustainable practices, to inspire action, share knowledge, and create a self-sustaining model of community engagement and support.

Our Vision - Shortened

In five years, La Finka is a thriving living lab and third place—an inspiring example of sustainable design, creative expression, and community resilience in the high desert. With spaces like a geothermal greenhouse and native nursery, community garden, food forests, and shared maker and media labs, we support hands-on learning, local food production, and artisan craft. Events like Moon Boom and The Banana Rodeo continue to bring people together in celebration of art, science, and culture. La Finka is more than a place—it's a platform for connection, experimentation, and building a regenerative future together.

La Finka is a living lab and cultural third place rooted in Reno’s high desert, modeling how community, ecology, and creativity can thrive together. As a bioregional hub, we steward food forests, a native nursery, creative maker spaces, and vibrant cultural events—all supporting a regenerative local economy. Through partnerships and evolving financial tools, we’re part of a growing movement building place-based systems of care, resilience, and shared prosperity.

In five years, La Finka will be a fully-functioning regenerative campus:
