The Gardens
We aspire to grow 40% of the food we eat here on our 1.79 acre lot utilizing both rain water capture and the water rights we have (Lake Ditch Irrigation).
Using these resources we imagine growing a dense yet diverse number of vegetables, herbs, fruits & flowers in an organic no-till system replacing the current non-use of the land. There will be different sections of the property including a community garden bed & garden area as well as a perennial food forrest.

To do this we will utilize gravity fed irrigation system tied into lake ditch paired with drip irrigation, rain water catchment, and circular systems to use our own natural fertilizer to promote soil development and the microbial systems we hope to flourish & feed our plants, and ultimately our belly's. After all we are microbes. Insert References here
In 2023, Niko, enrolled in a Permaculture Design Certificate (PDC) course at University of Oregon which set up a broad 5 year concept plan and started our journey of soil remediation and building to restore the wild land from the invasive species that have taken over. There's still a long way to go, but we are taking steps towards our gall.
