Overview

We are gathering the weekend of Aug 30 / September 1 to work on the community garden area at La Finka! We have a variety of tasks that we will be completing throughout the weekend with the ultimate goal of testing a pond / irrigation system that connects to the garden beds.

ToDo

Plant Life

• Snip Seeds off of weeds & discard in trash
• Pull weeds & put into compost
• Pick Axe out roots of cottonwood sprouts
• Rake grass / hangout area
• Move pine cones to pile in field
• Move wood to pile in field
• Mow Grass
• Trim South Line of property
  • Cottonwoods, pyracantha, etc...
• Rake trimmings & Put into compost to fill bed
• Mix Mycellium into wood chips and spread on south line
• Dig holes for future trees on berm
• Dig holes for future shrubs in front of berm
• Cut down some cottonwoods

Irrigation / Pond

• Dig Pond
• Setup Pump System
• Trench south line
• Trench in front of berm
• Trench through berm to front line & bury a pipe
• Mark out where upper pond will be

Chinampas

• Pull out weeds
• Clear out trenches
• Fill Garden bed 2

• Planting design for Privacy / Wind Screen - Front of the house
