Request for Proposal (RFP): Artistic Projects at La Finka

1. Introduction

La Finka is seeking talented local artisans and artists to submit proposals for unique artistic projects that will enhance the visual and cultural landscape of our community space. We are committed to showcasing innovative and sustainable art that reflects the spirit and values of La Finka.

2. Background

La Finka is a hub for creativity and sustainability, merging arts, sciences, and community engagement. Located in Reno, NV we host events, workshops, and provide a space for artists and thinkers to explore new ideas. Our goal with this RFP is to integrate local artistic talent into our evolving physical landscape.

3. Project Scope

Objective

The objective of this RFP is to select one or more artists who can deliver creative, engaging, and sustainable art installations or projects that align with the themes of sustainability, community, and innovation. Bonus points for functional & interactive art.

• Insitu Art! or Site Specific Art Work

Scope of Work

• Design and create art installations to be placed in specified areas around La Finka.
• Collaborate with our team on the integration of these artworks into the existing environment.
• Ensure that all materials and processes are environmentally friendly and sustainable.

4. Submission Guidelines

Proposal Requirements

Artists are asked to submit a detailed proposal that includes:

• Artist Background: A brief biography or artist statement.
• Project Description: A detailed description of the proposed project, including conceptual themes, materials to be used, and expected impact.
• Visuals: Sketches, drawings, or digital renderings of the proposed artwork.
• Budget: An itemized budget proposal.
• Timeline: Estimated timeline from start to completion.

5. Criteria for Selection

• Relevance to Theme: How well the proposal aligns with the themes of sustainability, community, and innovation + integrated into the space
• Artistic Merit: Originality and quality of the artistic concept.
• Feasibility: Practicality of the proposed budget and timeline.
• Sustainability: Use of sustainable materials and methods.

7. Terms and Conditions

• Ownership and Rights: The art lives at La Finka. Open to ideas for commercialization if feasible. @Emilio
• Installation: Artist is responsible for installation, but can recruit from the community for larger tasks. Maintenance will be discussed per project.
• Compensation: To be discussed per project - Potential for Room/Board, Dinner, Breakfast, Approved Materials, Stipend, etc...
