The Banana Rodeo is an annual event hosted at La Finka — part science fair, part living showcase of our community, part collaborative experiment. A hands-on science fair is the platform; artists, builders, organizers, and misfits of all kinds supply the rest. It's the most ridiculous rodeo in the west.
Who's Behind It: La Finka
La Finka is a community space and experimental bioregional hub on a 1.8-acre homestead in Reno. We host gatherings, build sustainable infrastructure, and support local artists, educators, and organizers.
Our mission is to cultivate connection, invention, and regenerative culture through hands-on experiences, shared resources, and collective imagination.
We're serious about our silliness.
La Finka is a fiscally sponsored project of The Beauty Project, which makes every contribution tax-deductible while we move toward becoming a standalone 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
The Banana Rodeo is our annual fundraiser ~ it builds capacity for year-round programming, infrastructure improvements, and equitable access to creative tools and knowledge.
