Apply to Live at La Finka

Read Rooms At La Finka first — especially the Culture and House Norms sections. If it sounds like your kind of house, send answers to the questions below to lafinka@pm.me.

Write like a person. There's no length requirement and no right answer; we're trying to figure out whether we'd live well together, and short honest answers beat long polished ones.

The basics

  1. Your name
  2. Email and phone
  3. Any public links you'd like to share — website, portfolio, social, whatever represents you
  4. Ideal move-in date, and how flexible it is
  5. How long do you imagine staying? A rough guess is fine.

About you

  1. What do you do? Work, study, projects — whatever takes up your time. If you work remotely, tell us what that looks like day to day.
  2. What are you into right now? Something you're building, learning, making, or obsessing over.
  3. Tell us about your current living situation and why you're moving.

Living with people

  1. What's your experience with shared or communal living? What worked, and what didn't?
  2. Describe your ideal home environment. How social, how quiet, how tidy?
  3. How do you handle it when a housemate does something that bothers you? A real example is more useful than a principle.
  4. What are your actual habits around shared space? Dishes, cleaning, noise, guests — be honest rather than aspirational.

La Finka specifically

  1. Why La Finka, rather than a normal room? What drew you here?
  2. The house hosts things — a monthly concert, talks, dinners, workdays. How do you see yourself around that? Attending, helping, hosting, or mostly doing your own thing?
  3. There's a garden, a workshop, a lab, and 1.8 acres. Anything you'd want to get your hands into?
  4. Is there anything you'd want to bring to the house — a skill, a project, a standing dinner, a thing you'd start?

Practical

  1. Are you comfortable with the rent and shared utilities as listed? (~$1,160–1,250/month all-in)
  2. What's your employment or income situation? We're just checking that the rent is comfortable for you — no documentation needed at this stage.
  3. Do you have a vehicle? (One spot included; it needs to be registered and operational.)
  4. Please confirm you've read the House Norms — quiet hours, guests capped at 3 nights/month without approval, no pets, no smoking indoors, no illegal substances.

Anything else

  1. Anything we should know that we haven't asked about?
  2. What questions do you have for us?

What happens next

  1. We read every application and reply either way.
  2. If it looks like a fit, we'll set up a short call — about 20 minutes.
  3. Then we'd have you come see the place: a tour, a longer conversation, and a chance to meet whoever's around.
  4. We decide and get back to you quickly. Niko and Stephanos make the final call as owners; current residents weigh in.
