Welcome to La Finka

La Finka is a lived-in, creative homestead in Reno that functions as both a shared house and an evolving community space. It is designed for people who value intentional living, collaboration, and curiosity. The house supports a balance of private retreat and shared engagement, with common areas that encourage conversation, making, and gathering, and personal spaces that respect focus and rest.

Life at the house is shaped by care for the place and for each other. Residents are expected to be thoughtful stewards of the home, comfortable with a bit of experimentation, and open to contributing their skills, attention, and presence. The environment is creative but not chaotic, social but not performative. It suits people who are self-directed, grounded, and interested in living within a small ecosystem that blends art, technology, and regenerative practices without forcing participation or identity.

Location

The house is located in Old Southwest Reno in a quiet neighborhood with plenty of space.

• 15 minute bike into town
• 26 min to Mt. Rose
• 52 min to Palisades
• 42 min to Incline Village ( Tahoe )

House Features

The house is a 3000 sq ft home and also includes an unfinished 1200 Sq. Ft basement ( Sauna, Media Space & Lab / Workshop ) which sits on 1.8 acres. The house hold surface water rights and is part of an irrigation ditch providing water to the landscape from May 1st -> October ish. There is also a geothermal well that keeps the house warm and heats both the pool & hot tub.

Culture

Niko & Stephanos (The Home Owners) are brothers in their 30s who bought the house in 2020. The house evolved through the pandemic as a gathering place for friends, ideas, and community. Our home was opened with the intention of gathering people and supporting creative endeavors exploring what's possible to build with and for a community with the resources available.

Stephanos has recently moved to Austin, Texas but frequents Reno and is involved in the long term building of La Finka & it's mission!
